My name is Lucretia Gordon. I first enrolled in MPI’s Homeownership Program in June 2013. During that time, I was trying to maintain the curriculum and go through the program with my current boyfriend. My boyfriend and brokeup, and I felt that I really needed his income to obtain the home I wanted. After the breakup, I stayed away from the curriculum. However, after realizing that homeownership was something that I really wanted to my children I reconnected with MPI and told them that I was 100% commited. Tamara, Toray, and Steven informed me that “YES” I still could get the

Home that would provide for my family and me. I came back to MPI June 2014 and this time I was serious. I was scared initially because I didn’t want to be judged by the fact that I didn’t follow the curriculum initially but I was supported. There were times were I would vent to Toray and she was like a sister encouraging me not to give up. I moved into my home on March 6, 2015 through MPI’S rent to own program. On November 25, 2015, I officially closed on my home with my name on the deed. My children are extremely happy and I am happy. I was 28 years old when purchased my own home. I am so happy that MPT and their team of realtors, mortgage lenders and advisors stayed on me and were by my side the entire time. If can do this, anyone can do this. You just have to want to do it.
